Cayuga Terrace

This little known neighborhood is one of the unheralded gems of San Francisco. Tucked away between San Jose Ave. and Alemany Blvd. An extension of Mission Terrace crossing Ocean Ave. becomes Cayuga Terrace. Most homes were built in the 1930’s and early 1940’s. They were well constructed, having beautiful details and are well maintained. I purchased my home and lived here since 1977.

Cayuga Terrace is the home of the Award winning Park, Cayuga Park. Demi the gardener has won many awards. There is a club house, where many activities are conducted such as Tiny Tots, Senior Citizens, a variety of sports and our Improvement Club meetings are held there. There is a full time Director on duty. All schools are within walking distance. Elementary, Middle School, High School (both public and private) and Junior College (City College of San Francisco). San Francisco State University is a short distance away having a variety of Street cars and buses going directly to the campus.

Balboa Bart Station is located in Cayuga Terrace. The Historical MUNI car barn is being refurbished. Many beautiful additions are planned in the near futures. Plans on file for viewing.

Transportation is fantastic. Residents can walk to Bart, also the MUNI, consisting of a variety of street cars and buses. The 280 freeway has easy access from the area.

Shopping is great. Pacific Super Market and Safeway are within walking distance. There are many shopping centers a short distance away, such as Stonestown, Westlake and Ocean View Village.
